Antique French Majolica Hand Painted Floral Tureen Beautiful oval shape with exquisite hand painted flowers in pink, blue, mauve and green. Distinctive pine cone handle on top of the lid and elegant painted side handles on base. Circa 1900. Stamped on the base with 'Demi-Porcelaine K G Luneville France'.
Jacques Chambrette established a pottery in Lunéville in 1731 producing French faience. In 1788 the Lunéville factory along with the nearby works at St. Clément was purchased by Keller and Guérin (KG). Lunéville produced majolica until the pottery closed in 1914.
Lunéville majolica is known for its bold colors, particularly turquoise and green. The pottery produced an astounding variety of asparagus and artichoke plates, servers and tureens in multiple patterns.
